THE PRESIDENCY
Terms in Office:Truman served 2 terms and could have served 3 but due to the 22nd amendment that was passed after Roosevelt served almost 4 terms.
VP: For his first term he had no Vice President but in his second he was followed by Alben W. Barkly. Political Party: When Truman was a kid his Father had many friend active in the Democratic party. He also follows in Roosevelts intrests.
Historical Events:World War II and then the beginning of theCold War.
Accomplishments while in Office: Passing the Marshall Plan which used $12 Billion to rebuild Europe after World War II. Acted as a Peace offering and was a turning point in Foreign Affairs. Creating NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) which was a partnership for peace and defence for many countries. Conclusion of World War II. Albert Einstein wrote him a letter telling him how to win the war. It was a decision that Truman described as being weighed down by planets but in the end it worked out.
International Issues: Involvement in the Korean War. Soviet Union blocking access to sectors of Berlin which resulted in the Allies activating the Berlin Airlift which provided supplies via. air.
Domestic Issues: Strikes and economic problems after the end of World War II and Soviet Espionage. (Spys!)
